| Panorama Running Club was established in 1994. The club is located on Paul Kruger Road, Radiokop and serves the Weltevreden, Randpark Ridge, Radiokop, Boskruin, Allens Nek and Strubens Valley residential areas. The Running Club is a sub-section of the Panorama Sports Club – which also boasts a very prominent Soccer Club, and more recently acquired a Hockey Club. |
| The Running Club is a member of the Central Gauteng Athletics authority and has a membership of approximately 60 members. The club hosts the Panorama 10 and 21.1 km road race annually and recently added a 5km fun run, where we also welcome walkers. This year will be the 9th year of our race and we celebrated our 10th year of existence last year. Time Trials are held every Monday and Thursday at 17h45in summer and 17h30 in winter at the Eagle Canyon Estate gym and the run is a 4km or 8km lap. We also have early morning runs 4 times a week - these start at various garages around the area. Phone Jill for details.Braai Nights are held on the last Thursday of every month and we encourage members to join in with their families in this social aspect of the Club. Various other social functions are held during the course of the year, as well as assisting at various other road races by way of manning water tables etc. |
| The club has a presence at most races and organises once a month to have a breakfast braai after the run. In 2008, 23 runners did the Comrades out of a total of 50 members, but we do have all levels of running and walking. We also have other club functions such as a pasta party before the Comrades, an aches and pains party after the Comrades and an end of year prise giving function. |
